Yapp Style
The yapp is the overhang of the leather cover beyond the Bible's pages. On very thin Bibles there isn't much leeway between Standard and Full Yapp.
3/8" overhang. A classic, understated edge that protects the pages without overwhelming the cover profile.
More than Standard, less than Full. A good middle ground for those who want a pronounced edge without full flap coverage.
The overhang meets and touches when the Bible is pressed closed. The most protective and traditional look — pairs well with yapp tooling.
Yapp Tooling
Decorative tooling pressed along the yapp edge with friction. Recommended for Full Yapp builds.
A decorative pattern stamped along the inside edge of the yapp, adding a refined detail visible when the Bible is opened flat.
A clean, unadorned yapp edge. Simpler and more understated — suits leathers that speak for themselves.
Spine Features
The raised spine hubs give the Bible a classic, library-style profile. Tooling adds decorative detail between each hub.
Standard. Clean horizontal bands across the spine with no additional decoration.
Raised hubs with decorative tooling stamped into the panels between them.
Tooling only, without the raised profile. A subtler texture across the spine panels.
A flat, smooth spine. Not generally recommended but available on request.
Stamping Color
The foil or blind stamp used on the spine lettering and any cover decoration.
No foil — an impression pressed directly into the leather for a subtle, tonal result.
Branding
How the Ex Fide mark appears on your Bible, if at all.
Standard. Small text mark stamped discreetly on the cover or spine.
The full Ex Fide shield mark stamped on the cover.
A clean cover with no maker's mark.
Ribbon Colors
Berisford ribbon markers, made in the UK. Select one or ask Ethan to choose the color that best complements your leather.
Liner Leather
The interior leather lining bonded to the inside of your cover boards. By default black or dark brown is selected to complement your leather — custom colors are available for a small upcharge.
Standard & Custom Liners
Standard liner options are black and dark brown — both stocked and included at no extra cost. These suit the vast majority of leather and color combinations.
If you have a specific color in mind, custom liners are available for a small upcharge. Get in touch to discuss what you are envisioning and Ethan will let you know what is possible.
Vinymo MBT Thread Color
Every Bible is hand saddle stitched with Vinymo MBT thread made in Japan. By default the thread is matched to complement the cover leather — additional colors are available on request.
Hand Saddle Stitched
Every Bible is hand saddle stitched — a technique far more durable than machine stitching. If one stitch breaks, the rest hold firm.
By default the thread color is chosen to complement your cover leather. Additional colors are available on request — get in touch to discuss what you have in mind.
